SVG to DXF for laser cutting
Exact geometry, converted node by node — no re-tracing. Text becomes outlines, duplicate lines are removed, contours are closed and the size is written in millimetres. Your file is processed in your browser and never uploaded.
Using xTool Studio and engraving filled shapes or text? Use the laser-ready SVG: xTool fills every DXF contour on its own, so the holes of letters (o, e, a) and cut-outs get filled. The SVG keeps them empty, with the same cleaned geometry, sizes in mm and colours. In xTool, set the colours of filled shapes to Engrave and the colours of lines to Score or Cut: Engrave on a line fills the whole shape it outlines.
DXF R12 with closed polylines: opens in LightBurn, xTool Studio (Creative Space), Inkscape and CAD software. Every layer gets its own colour, so LightBurn and xTool never merge a cut line with an engraved shape. Layer names: LINE_ = strokes, FILL_ = filled shapes (or CUT / ENGRAVE with the laser preset).
